Chris & Partners' institutional ‘symposium planning’ highlights

The symposium ‘Nam June Paik's Gift,’ in its twelfth year this year, was composed in a format exploring the direction of art museums linked with technology in the post-digital age—under the theme «A Society Without Museums, Museums Everywhere»—with presenters' in-depth presentations and everyone gathering to discuss, and after each presentation, a Q&A was composed so the audience attending online could converse with the presenters.

For communication with various attendees, this symposium was Chris & Partners also conducted YouTube online streaming.

Over the total two-day event, YouTube streaming was conducted using the Nam June Paik Art Center's internal-network internet; by the nature of the internal-network, the connection was somewhat unstable, but Chris & Partners' online specialist engineering team was on hand at all times so the symposium could be finished safely.

It became a time to illuminate and discuss, from various angles, the role of art museums and the role of future art museums in the social crisis deepened by the pandemic, through presentations by 9 participating researchers—technology-culture researchers, curators, artists, and more.
