Chris & Partners' ‘webinar’ planning highlights

The ‘3rd Africa Martial Arts Webinar,’ hosted by the UNESCO International Centre of Martial Arts (UNESCO ICM), was held online under the theme ‘Martial Arts for African Youth and Women,’ due to COVID-19, at the UNESCO ICM international conference hall. Among the domestic speakers, those who were available were invited on-site, and speakers who were unavailable or overseas connected via an online video-conferencing platform (this meeting used ZOOM). We designed a backdrop suited to the meeting's character, and composed the necessary —lighting, audio, PDP, and more—systemsto plan and operate a hybrid webinar in which overseas speakers who connected via the video-conferencing platform held the meeting in real time. Chris & Partners, webinar, when planning a for the natural interaction of on-site participants and participants who connect online, helps the connection with various configurations—PDP, beam projector, LED, and more.

As participants joined online from various African-region countries, the most important factor for the meeting to run smoothly, simultaneous interpretation, was also Chris & Partners who operated it. At this meeting, we installed a separate interpretation booth inside the meeting room and conducted Korean-English simultaneous interpretation.

This meeting provided online streaming, and Chris & Partners operated YouTube live streaming on a Korean channel and an English channel. Chris & Partners' professional interpretation team and engineering team continuously monitored in real time while the meeting was underway, and were on hand at all times to prepare for any eventuality. Also, one of the most important parts of the webinar preparation stage, the domestic and overseas speakers' advance tech rehearsals, were also conducted 2–3 times to prepare for smooth proceedings on the meeting day. In this meeting's case, since most participants joined from the African region, where network connections are often somewhat unstable by regional character, we ran rehearsals with even more care. As problems with COVID-19 recently grew more serious, most company and institution staff use video-conferencing platforms(Zoom, Webex, Bluejeans, and the like) a lot, so they have no great difficulty using these platforms, but still, our professional technicians checked the internet environment and system settings one-on-one with speakers in advance and had time to answer questions they had about using the platforms.
