The brief
Under Korea's "Value-up" program, the Financial Supervisory Service and Korea Exchange set out to take Korean capital markets directly to global investors. Not a booth at someone else's conference — Korea's own investor roadshow, staged in the two cities where the capital sits.
In New York, six of Korea's largest financial institutions took part, with the FSS Governor, the KRX Chairman and the CEOs of participating firms all present to introduce their value-up plans. Hong Kong followed in November with the FSS and major financial groups convening Korean financial leaders and global investors.
Chris & Partners planned and operated both.
The challenge
A sovereign-level investor roadshow abroad concentrates several hard problems at once.
The audience is the hardest room in finance. New York drew roughly 280 attendees from 126 institutions — Morgan Stanley, J.P. Morgan, Carlyle among them. An event for that room has no tolerance for operational slippage; every detail either reinforces credibility or quietly subtracts from it.
Many hosts, one event. With a regulator, an exchange and multiple competing financial groups co-hosting, each participant arrived with distinct objectives, protocol expectations and their own satellite events to run alongside the main program.
Executing 11,000 km from home. The conventional route is to hand delivery to a local PCO in the host city and manage at a distance — which also hands over control of quality.
Our approach
We ran New York directly, without a local PCO. Chris & Partners handled the entire scope in-house: securing and managing the venue, building out the event space, installing and operating the systems, and coordinating closely with local vendors on the ground. Owning the chain end to end is what kept the standard consistent with what the client expects at home.
We treated each host as a client. With multiple institutions participating and several individual satellite events running around the main program, we mapped every organisation's objectives and requirements separately, so the shared event served each of them rather than averaging them out.
We designed for VIP density. With the regulator's leadership, exchange leadership, CEOs and institutional investors in one room, arrival flow, protocol and session management were planned to the minute.
The result
The New York roadshow drew about 280 attendees from 126 institutions and was received as a significant moment for Korean capital markets — global investors engaged closely with the changing Korean investment environment and the national support measures behind it. The Hong Kong edition followed the same standard, with Chris & Partners leading everything from venue selection and space design through systems and on-site coordination.
Together, the two editions demonstrate what a cross-border investor roadshow demands: not just event production, but the ability to deliver a home-standard event in a foreign market, directly.
