15th Session of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage

At the 15th Session of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage—held online from UNESCO Headquarters in Paris—it was decided to inscribe Korea's Yeondeunghoe (Lantern Lighting Festival), which Korea had nominated, on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Beyond Korea's inscription of Yeondeunghoe, the session continued with the compilation and decision of a great many agenda items from numerous countries. Because UNESCO headquarters sessions handle so many items, it was unclear exactly when a given item would be taken up—so Chris & Partners finished all setup and rehearsals the day before and stayed on standby at all times to keep pace with the flow of the headquarters session, allowing Korea's Yeondeunghoe to be successfully inscribed as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
